Snow and Flow
The adventure started early and in the dark as do most winter activities. Forecast looked just perfect and a long weekend in the snow with friends could not have been planned better. We met at my house in Palmer, loaded up mountains of gear into my car, strapped 3 bikes onto the rack and headed north. Journey To The ITI350
This winter I plan to embark on my first Iditarod Trail Invitational (ITI) race, my rookie year, to McGrath. This is a 350 mile race from Knik to McGrath via the Iditarod trail, human powered by bike, by foot or by ski. The race occurs following the Iron Dog snowmachine race and a week or teo before the Iditarod. At Least It Isn’t Trout Lake..
Some of you know.. only a few years ago did I really start biking. I met my wife a few years after moving back to Alaska and she, being an avid mountain biker, convinced me on a few occasions to go ride bikes with her.
